Latino Americans

Eight, Arizona PBS in partnership with the City of Phoenix Latino Institute, is hosting two events May 23 to launch the new three-part, six-hour PBS documentary series Latino Americans.

Youth event: May 23, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Includes boxed lunch & soft drinks, opening remarks from special guests, 30-minute highlight screening of film, panel discussion and audience Q&A.  The children’s event panel discussion will include Latino youth from the community, as well as the film’s producer and other guests.

Evening Arts & Culture event: May 23, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Opening remarks from special guests, 30-minute highlight screening of film, panel discussion and audience Q&A. Light refreshments available.

Both events will be held May 23 in the historic A.E. England Building in downtown Phoenix (424 N. Central Ave., Phoenix 85004)

Early Childhood Workshops

Yuma Early Literacy Project

Eight-Arizona PBS Educational Outreach will provide a series of six FREE Family Literacy Workshops at various locations throughout Yuma. These 2-hour workshops will enhance your understanding of reading and language development of children birth to 5 years of age. Parents will be provided many FREE materials to enhance literacy with your young child.
