P3 - Problems, Projects and Possibilities! - October 17th

Great things are happening in Arizona with digital learning!  Be a part of this remarkable educational event held on Saturday, October 17th, 2015 at the Prescott Resort & Conference Center in beautiful Prescott, Arizona.

This year’s showcase, entitled “Problems, Projects & Possibilities”, will focus on presenting digital tools and resources that can be easily applied in any classroom to promote project-based learning.  Breakout sessions will showcase technology integration in the 21st Century classroom and will be aligned with the Arizona College and Career Ready Standards. The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Suzie Boss.

MISSION US: Mission 4 City of Immigrants - Professional Development - October 24

The Mission US games are designed to improve the learning of American history by students in grades 7 through 12. High School history educators are also welcome.

By attending this professional development experience, you will receive a variety of materials to support use of the missions by educators, including overview and background information, standards alignments, activities, and primary sources, plus videos of teachers using Mission US with their students.

Participants will also receive complimentary continental breakfast and lunch. Professional development certificates will be provided.

Community Based Professional Development

The Yuma Region Partnership Council, in collaboration with Eight-Arizona PBS is pleased to announce: Community Based Professional Development for all early childhood educators in Yuma County. Whether you are center-based, school-based or home-based, please plan on attending. No Charge!

All workshops will be held from 8:00am to noon with a light breakfast and check-in at 7:30am.

All sessions will be based around Developmentally Appropriate Practice and will directly apply to what you do every day. Join national and local experts in learning new techniques and practicing the proven methods you use every day.

Yuma Early Literacy Project

Eight-Arizona PBS Educational Outreach will provide a series of six FREE Family Literacy Workshops at various locations throughout Yuma. These 2-hour workshops will enhance your understanding of reading and language development of children birth to 5 years of age. Parents will be provided many FREE materials to enhance literacy with your young child.
