Project C Episode Six - Montgomery Bus Boycott

December 1, 2015

In Episode Six, The Montgomery Bus Boycott, student reporters lead viewers on a journey through Montgomery, visiting the Rosa Parks Museum and other historic sites pivotal to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Interviews with historians, archivists, and those close to the boycott will provide an in-depth understanding of this 13-month event and its profound influence on the nation. Students will also examine methods of communication used within the movement and during the boycott.

Webinar -PBS LearningMedia

Tuesday, December 1st, 4:00pm to 5:00pm (Arizona Time)

This presentation will introduce participants to PBS LearningMedia, a free, online resource that has standards linked lessons for the pre-K through post secondary classroom. Participants will learn how to utilize these resources for tech integration and developing interactive lessons.

Community Based Professional Development

The Yuma Region Partnership Council, in collaboration with Eight-Arizona PBS is pleased to announce: Community Based Professional Development for all early childhood educators in Yuma County. Whether you are center-based, school-based or home-based, please plan on attending. No Charge!

All workshops will be held from 8:00am to noon with a light breakfast and check-in at 7:30am.

All sessions will be based around Developmentally Appropriate Practice and will directly apply to what you do every day. Join national and local experts in learning new techniques and practicing the proven methods you use every day.

Yuma Early Literacy Project

Eight-Arizona PBS Educational Outreach will provide a series of six FREE Family Literacy Workshops at various locations throughout Yuma. These 2-hour workshops will enhance your understanding of reading and language development of children birth to 5 years of age. Parents will be provided many FREE materials to enhance literacy with your young child.

We will be hosting an exclusive online screening of select content from the film, along with a tour of the curriculum, on December 2, at 4:00 PM Pacific/7:00 PM ET. The online screening and training will be approximately one hour.
