Classroom Innovators

Qwest

The ASSET-Eight Classroom Innovators project is designed to meet the professional development needs of Pre K through Grade 12 educators within Title I and high poverty public and charter schools, as well as non-profit private schools. The project supports new online learners through the assistance of onsite experienced online learners known as Classroom Innovators. The ASSET-Eight Classroom Innovators project is also designed to meet the multimedia curricular integration needs of AZ classrooms by:

Raising awareness of on-air recordable programs from Eight,

Encouraging the integration of online interactives from PBS Kids and PBS Kids Go!

Promoting online lesson plans from PBS Teachers

Supporting national education community involvement with PBS Teachers Login Area

Growing professionally through online coursework from PBS TeacherLine

Brainstorming how additional materials available from PBS Parents can be shared

The ASSET-Eight Professional Development team works with Innovators to design and deliver hands-on workshops for their site staffs by customizing these PBS resources to the site goals and academic needs. ASSET-Eight Classroom Innovators receive membership to Eight and ASSET.

Be a part of the ASSET Educator Community in Arizona by contributing to the Innovate Classrooms blog!  Watch for teaching ideas from Classroom Innovators throughout Arizona and look for important announcements from ASSET-Eight.  All educators are encouraged to be involved in the dialogue of valuable resources for integrating technology through the use of PBS in the classroom!

The ASSET-Eight Classroom Innovators project is made possible by funding from PBS TeacherLine through a Local Innovation Fund Grant.  PBS TeacherLine receives national funding from the U.S. Department of Education Ready to Teach grant.
