How
to Get Your 64MB Mini Storage Device
 |
The
first 50 people who enroll in a March PBS TeacherLine
course will receive an exciting bonus:a
64MB Mini Storage Device (a $35 value) –
a small, “solid state” memory chip
in a tough plastic case that plugs into your USB
port on your computer. Store your files and data
on it and then take it with you wherever you go
in your pocket or purse – it is only about
3 inches long and weighs nothing. Keep you most
important files with you and use them on any computer.
Works with Mac or Windows. You’ll wonder
how you did without one of these!
How
Does a PBS TeacherLine Class Work?
When
you register for a PBS TeacherLine course, you
become part of a group of 15 to 25 teachers with
an assigned facilitator. These people may be from
your area (a so-called “local” course)
or they may be drawn from all over (a “national”
course).
The
course starts with a kick-off session online and
then continues with weekly sessions for six weeks.
You are in constant communication with your course-mates
and facilitator via e-mail and discussion boards.
All discussion sessions are conducted in asynchronous
forums via typing. You are encouraged to share
your ideas, comments and questions with your group
since this is what makes the experience so powerful
for everyone. Course work will take several hours
per week (varies by topic) and all assignments
are due before the ending date for the course.
After
you complete your course, your facilitator works
to make sure you get the appropriate documentation
to receive credit for taking the course. Then
you’re ready to take your next PBS TeacherLine
course - many PBS TeacherLine courses fit into
sequences and some are even part of multiple-course
certificate programs!
