Arizona StoryMakers Writing Contest


Submit an entry to ASSET-Eight’s middle school writing contest by February 23, 2011. The contest is open to any Arizona resident who is a 6th, 7th or 8th grade student.


Who is Eligible:

The "Arizona StoryMakers Writing Contest, 2011” is open to 6, 7, and 8th grade students only.

The contest is open to Arizona residents only. Entry materials become the property of Eight-AZ PBS. Eight-AZ PBS is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected or illegal entry forms or unsuccessful attempts to notify prize recipients. All materials submitted as part of the entry form must be the participant’s own original work. The entry form must not contain any unauthorized use of names, likenesses or biographical information of any third parties.

Participation:

How to Enter

Each entry must complete and submit the official Arizona StoryMakers Writing Contest online entry form and print a copy of it to include with their hardcopy submission. The entry form must have the required signature of a parent/guardian (and, if appropriate, the optional signature of the sponsoring teacher), confirming that the story and art are original, and granting certain rights to the entry materials. ALL entries must have the signature of a parent/legal guardian.

Limit one entry per participant. In the event of multiple entries, the first entry will be entered in the contest and all other entries will be ignored.

The entry form must be complete and legible.

All Arizona Entries must be postmark by February 23, 2011. Entries must be mailed to:

Prizes:

All winners will be recognized at an awards assembly and author lecture on March 27, 2011. (date to be determined) There will be one first, second and third place winner from each of the categories: fiction and non-fiction, in each of the three grade bands.

6th grade - Prizes for 1st place in fiction and non-fiction categories.
7th grade - Prizes for 1st place in fiction and non-fiction categories.
8th grade - Prizes for 1st place in fiction and non-fiction categories.

Prizes to be determined.
